Box Culvert Headwalls

Althon has new range of precast concrete Box Culvert Headwalls to suit a maximum internal box culvert of 2650mm wide x 1750mm high. All of our CSP Culvert headwalls can be factory fitted with gratings, flap valves, Kee Klamp® handrail, penstocks and other flow control devices. Toe depths are also available up to 1000mm and come in thickness of 300 or 500mm.

Sewers for Adoption (SFA6) Headwalls

In response to customers requesting ‘Sewers for Adoption’ compliant Headwalls with a smaller footprint than our SFA10 Headwall for pipes up to & including 300mm ID, Althon have introduced the SFA6 Headwall range.  The SFA6 is available in three back wall heights & therefore three wing wall profiles & will accommodate pipework up to & including 300mm ID.  Toe depths of up to 1000mm are available in both 500 & 300mm thicknesses. Like all our other Headwalls these units can be factory fitted with Gratings, Flap Valves, Genuine Kee Klamp Handrail, Penstocks and other flow control devices.

Angled Headwall with Dissipation Blocks

Althon supply precast headwalls with factory fitted accessories. We have recently supplied one of our new AH4C left hand angled precast headwalls factory fitted with a 250mm HDPE flap valve and nine small diffuser blocks on the spillway.

All of our precast headwalls can be fitted with diffuser blocks on the spillway, stepped baffle blocks or cascade panels.

Our AH4C range of precast headwalls has been designed specifically to meet the Environment Agency’s Standard rules SR2015 No 27 – Constructing an outfall pipe of 300mm diameter through a headwall into a main river & Exempt flood risk activities: environmental permits section FRA12 ‘Outfall pipes less than 300mm diameter through a headwall’.

AH12C Angled Headwalls

The AH12C Headwall is a two part Pcc Headwall that allows water to discharge at a 45 Deg. angle, the Environment Agency’s preferred method when discharging into a watercourse. The AH12C Headwall also complies with ‘Sewers for Adoption’ guidelines. The AH12C is available with two back wall height options, two toe thickness options both available in three depths. The AH12C A option can accommodate Twin Wall or Pcc Pipe up to & including 750mm ID and the AH12C B option can accommodate Twin Wall or Pcc Pipe up to & including 900mm ID.

SP Splayed Wing Wall Headwalls

Althon SP ‘Splayed Wing Wall Headwalls’ are produced with a higher wing wall at the front of the apron.  This makes them ideal for inlets or outlets where situated in locations with high/steep embankments or where the structure is required to provide protection to an accessory such as a Flap Valve, Duck Bill Valve, Stop-Logs or Weir Wall.  Althon SP precast concrete headwalls offer a cost effective alternative to in-situ structures for connecting pipework discharging into open watercourses.

There are four sizes of SP headwall available, catering for pipe sizes up to and including 1800mm. Each size of concrete headwall comes with six depths of toe and four back wall heights offering wing wall profiles to suit most applications.

All SP concrete headwalls are cast to suit the diameter and type of pipe being used and can be provided with fixings cast in at the time of manufacture to accommodate gratings, trash screens, flap valves, ladders, guardrails and flow and depth monitoring equipment.
