Althon Bespoke Trash Screen Project - Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust

Althon Limited pride themselves on their innovative design service, striving to exceed customer expectations and to ensure that the product supplied is the most suitable for the application.

A bespoke trash screen was designed alongside the Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust, to replace a degrading trash screen that was starting to collapse. The trash screen was in an area that was difficult to access, which meant that the design of the existing trash screen needed to be upgraded to offer minimal maintenance and a reduced risk of debris becoming building up. Althon trash screens are designed to reduce the amount of trash, litter and natural debris entering pipework and culverts whilst preventing unauthorised access and blockages.

Althon worked with the customer and their contractor to come up with a bespoke sloped trash screen with sides to both prevent access and allow raking to clear the grate, if required. This project included a water level monitor as requested by the customer.

Pre-fitted Manhole Chamber Accessories

Althon are able to pre-fit step irons and penstocks into our precast concrete manhole chambers, this means the concrete does not have to be drilled on site. This saves time on the installation and has great health and safety benefits. We can also supply spindles and T-Key for manual operation or actuators directly mounted onto the penstocks. 

Wherever possible we will deliver our chambers with all factory fitted accessories still attached for faster offload and installation.

New Vermin Gratings 

Althon have just launched two new Vermin Gratings, the pipe mounted vermin gate in 304 stainless steel and also the vermin mesh grille PN16 flange in 316 stainless steel. 

Pipe mounted vermin gates in 304 stainless steel are hinged at the top to allow passage in the direction of flow but will prevent rats and other vermin climbing back up the pipe. 

Vermin mesh grilles with a PN16 flange in 316 stainless steel are designed to fit between two flanged pipes or fittings, or at the end of a flanged pipe run to prevent rodents and other vermin entering connecting pipework.
